Peterborough United eye up £250,000 move for former Bristol Rovers man excelling in League Two

Peterborough United are said to be leading the way for former Bristol Rovers man Ryan Broom.

Broom is currently excelling in League Two with Cheltenham Town, but Gloucestershire Live report there is plenty of interest in his services in January.

Rovers' League One promotion rivals Peterborough - who they drew 0-0 with on Saturday - are currently said to be leading the chase, but there is also longstanding interest from Burton Albion.

Broom, 23, came through the youth ranks at the Gas, but never really made an impression on the first team, playing just nine league games in amongst loans at Taunton Town, Bath City and Eastleigh.

The Newport-born midfielder was released by Rovers in the summer of 2018 and subsequently joined Cheltenham Town.

He has kicked on thanks to regular first-team football at Whaddon Road, playing in right wing-back last season before switching to a No. 10 role this year.

His form last season saw him sign a new two-year deal in the summer, and it is reported that a minimum of £250,000 would be needed for Cheltenham to sell in January.
