Peterborough fire: Five teenagers arrested in connection with massive blaze at Whirlpool HQ

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with last night's huge fire at Whirlpool’s HQ in Peterborough.

The blaze caused about £2 million worth of damage.

Cambridgeshire Police said the suspects held on suspicion of arson were aged between 15 and 19.

They remained in custody on Friday night.

The fire tore through 48 lorry trailers containing spare parts.

About 50 firefighters had been called to the blaze on Thursday evening.

No one was injured and no buildings at the site were affected.

Whirlpool owns brands such as Hotpoint and makes tumble dryers and washing machines.
