Peter Wright books PDC World Championship quarter-final berth

Livingston-born Peter Wright is set to take on unseeded Callan Rydz in the PDC World Championship quarter-final tomorrow following his fourth round victory over Ryan Searle.

The flamboyant 51-year-old was in fine form as he swept to a 4-1 triumph over the 15th seed on Thursday night.

'Snakebite' was averaging over 100 before stuttering at the end, missing five darts to land the decisive double-18 and seal the victory.

Wright, who could potentially face fellow Scot Gary Anderson in the semi-final, is aiming to lift the trophy he won for the first time two years ago.

Rydz is the only unseeded player remaining in the tournament. The 23-year-old reached the last eight for the first time in his career with a 4-1 win over Arbroath's Alan Soutar.

The clash is first up on the evening session, with play getting underway around 7.30pm.
