So there we have it. Edinburgh has its own Great British Bake Off champion.
Student Peter Sawkins overcame competition from Dave Friday and Laura Adlington in tonight's final to land the 2020 GBBO crown.

What age is Peter Sawkins?
Aged just 20, Peter was the youngest contestant on this year's Bake Off. He's also the youngest person ever to have won the show.
What does he study and where does he go to uni?
When he's not baking, and doing other hobbies like playing badminton, he's studying accounting and finance at Edinburgh University. He lives with a group of fellow students in the city.
He is also originally from the Scottish capital.
Where did he watch the final?
He watched the final at home with his flat-mates.
He said: “I watched the final with my flatmates. I made something similar to the choux buns in the Showstopper, so it did have an element of the bake in it!
"For lockdown reasons, it couldn’t exactly be a party, but it was great to celebrate with my flatmates and have a few drinks.”
When did he start baking?
He's been watching the Great British Bake Off since childhood, and has dreamed of featuring on the show since he was just 12-years-old.
