Peter Lovenkrands names Ryan Kent as SPFL's best as Rangers legend backs Ibrox star to torment Celtic

Peter Lovenkrands believes Rangers winger Ryan Kent is currently the best player in Scotland.

He hopes the Ibrox ace has the Indian sign over Celtic – just like him.

The Dane scored six in 10 Old Firm derbies and bagged a double in
Gers’ 2002 Scottish Cup Final victory.

Kent has already scored twice against the Hoops at Parkhead and he will be one of Steven Gerrard’s chief threats when they visit Glasgow’s East End on Saturday.

Lovenkrands said:
“Kent is the best player in
Scottish football this
season. No-one is doing what he’s doing right now.

“He started the season in fantastic form, scoring goals and his end product has got better.

“Every time he gets the ball it looks like Rangers will create or score a goal.

“When I was on a good run against Celtic, I felt I would score in every game against them.

“The manager Alex McLeish played me through the middle against Celtic and I liked that.

“I was fast and Celtic had a massive back four who weren’t the quickest. I knew that if I got into good positions I would beat most of them to the ball.

“In my head, I knew I could have the upper hand over them every time.”
