Former Scotland and Leeds hero Peter Lorimer has passed away at 74 following a battle with long-term illness.
The Dundee -born star left his hometown club for the Whites making over 705 appearances over two spells with the club.
Lorimer formed part of Don Revie's successful Leeds successful spell in the 60s and 70s.
He is the club’s record goal-scorer having netted 238 times in all competitions.
Lorimer went on to make his international debut for Scotland for in 1969 on his way to earning 21 caps and netting scoring four goals for his country.
He would feature at the 1974 World Cup including in the opening fixture against Zair.
A statement from the Elland Road side confirmed the sad news: "Peter’s contribution to Leeds United will never be forgotten and his passing leaves another huge hole in the Leeds United family.
"He will always remain a club icon and his legacy at Elland Road will live on.
"Our thoughts are naturally with Peter’s wife Sue and the rest of his family at this difficult time."
