One of the big problems for the Washington Redskins over the years was the sloppy state of the front office.
Team owner Dan Snyder has tried to address that this offseason, firing Bruce Allen and reshaping most of the structure in the process while also bring on head coach Ron Rivera.
And asked for his opinion on it, Peter King says Rivera is the sort of personality who won’t let an organization fall into disarray once again.
“Ron Rivera, if he senses that’s happening, he will not stand for it,” King said, according to NBC Sports’ Ethan Cadeaux. “He will not stand for a divided organization. That will not last.”
That has to be a big sigh of relief for Redskins fans who have stuck around this long. From the sounds of everything we’ve heard so far, it sure sounds like Rivera is at the very top of the food chain.
That, at the very least, should mean a cohesive vision for the team over the short and long term.
While some detractors might point out it took entirely too long for this sort of thing to happen, later is indeed better than never and fans would have a hard time finding a more well-equipped coach for the job.
