Peter King’s latest column includes some interesting Broncos nuggets

Peter King of ProFootballTalk.com created some buzz in Broncos Country on Monday when he reported that Jeff Bezos is not interested in buying the team (at least not right now).

That wasn’t the only Broncos-related nugget in King’s column this week. The sportswriter also had several tidbits on Denver’s quarterback situation and potential trades.

  • Broncos CB Kyle Fuller could be traded for a “cheap” price. Not breaking news, but confirmation that Fuller is on the trade block. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 2.
  • Denver is “likely” to return to the QB market in 2022. Again, not unexpected, but it’s coming from a big source.
  • King wouldn’t be surprised if the Broncos are willing to trade more than the Pittsburgh Steelers for Aaron Rodgers in the spring (if the Green Bay Packers are willing to trade the QB). He also thinks the Rodgers situation could drag into 2023:

Paton could put together a very good package and still likely have a good receiver group for Rodgers. Of course, Rodgers, as I’ve written, could also wait till March 2023 to be an unrestricted free-agent at 39 and choose his last home from any of the other 31 teams. The status of Rodgers could be the story of the next two offseasons.

Of course, all of this doesn’t matter much at the moment because Denver still has to get through the 2021 season. The Broncos seem content to go forward with Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock for the rest of this year, but there will likely be changes at quarterback in 2022.

First things first, Denver will aim to get back on track this fall.
