Peter Kay announces arena tour including Newcastle dates as he hits road for first time in 13 years

Peter Kay has announced his first arena tour in 13 years, including a date in Newcastle, with news breaking of the shows during an ad break on I'm A Celebrity.

Millions of viewers were glued to ITV for the programme's long awaited return to Australia and, it took until the half hour mark for there to be any adverts. And there was one that got everyone talking, when Peter appeared in a skit involving someone asking him when he was going back on tour and when tickets went on sale.

Shortly after the teaser went out on air during I'm A Celebrity full details of the Phoenix Nights legend's tour were released. Peter said: "It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now”

“And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010”

Peter’s 2010 tour still officially ranks with the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest selling comedy tour of all time, with him playing to over 1.2 million people.

The tour will bring Peter to Newcastle's Utilita Arena on March 9 and 10 2023.

Tickets for Peter Kay’s nationwide tour go on sale Saturday, November 12. at 10am via Ticketmaster. There will be an O2 pre-sale this week.
