Peter Howson painting of Henrik Larsson up for auction to help Glasgow school

A Glasgow school is auctioning off a painting by renowned artist Peter Howson - and we can think of a few football fans that may be interested.

St Paul's High School's Parent Council is hoping to raise funds for the Pollok school by auctioning a painting of Henrik Larsson by the Scottish artist.

After the painting was donated to the parent council, members initially planned to put it up for a raffle before deciding to open the offer to people outside the school.

Parent council member Leanne McGuire said: "It was extremely generous of the donor to gift the painting to us. Their intentions were to raise some much needed funds for school activities so it would be great to honour that by getting a good amount for the painting.

"It’s an amazing piece done by a fantastic Scottish artist so I’m sure there is a generous fan out there who would love to own it.”

All the money raised from the painting would go towards the school - including outings for pupils, after school clubs and equipment.

Viewings of the painting are welcome and any potential buyers are asked to contact the St Paul's High School on 0141 582 0040.

So if you're a fan of Henrik Larsson, Peter Howson's work - or both! - you won't want to miss this opportunity!
