Peter Haring lifts lid on Hearts future as Austrian reveals deep affinity with the Jambos

It's been an emotional rollercoaster but Peter Haring is keen to extend his his stay on the ride at Hearts.

The big Austrian, who joined up at Tynecastle from SV Ried in 2018, has less than a year left to run on his Jambos deal.

He doesn't want time to run out on his love affair with the men in maroon, especially after a resurgence in form alongside Beni Baningime in the middle of the park for Robbie Neilson's unbeaten side.

It hasn't always been that way for Haring, though, with injury and the Jam Tarts' relegation to the Championship last year blighting his time in Edinburgh.

However, returned to the Premiership and reminding supporters what he's all about, Haring would love to sign new terms with Hearts - a club he now has a deep affinity with.

He told the Daily Record : “This is the club I have been the longest at through my whole career. I really feel part of it.

“Going through everything I have in the last few years - first of all with my injuries and then relegation and getting back up - means there’s an emotional connection with the club.

“I have enjoyed every single day of being part of it.

“It’s a great club to be at and work at. I’m really happy to be here.

“We will see what the future brings.

“There’s been no talks yet. But there’s so many games left this season and I still think I can do better than I have so far.

“I really enjoy Edinburgh, especially this year with the weather being so good!

“Since just before Covid my missus has been here too so I’m not on my own any more.

“The country is open for travelling too so last weekend was my first since before cCvid that my family has been over and that makes life much easier and more enjoyable.”
