Peter Haring insists Hearts players are 'even more unhappy' than fans as he urges focus

Hearts star Peter Haring insists he understands fan unhappiness, but insisted his team-mates are even more frustrated with performances.

The Austrian made his first league start since January in the 0-0 draw with Dunfermline at the weekend, after also starting the 2-1 defeat to Brora Rangers in the Scottish Cup.

And he admits that performances have been below par in recent weeks but told fans that he and his team-mates are even more unhappy than they are.

Supporters have been demanding change since the defeat to Brora with many feeling it should have been the end of the road for Robbie Neilson.

Ann Budge has also come in for criticism as chairman but Haring has told his Hearts colleagues they need to be less emotional and more focused on fixing things.

He told the Edinburgh Evening News: “When the fans are unhappy, you can imagine the players are even more unhappy the same way.

"At the end of the day it’s down to us to do better and the last few weeks have not been anywhere near good enough.

"Obviously we are frustrated. In those situations it is not good to get too emotional. You just need to stay focused and get your head right, work it out everyday, especially after bad results.

"Every session being on the pitch, getting your confidence back and the quicker the games come the better. Within the team you need to be patient and you need to be confident and believe in yourself.”
