Peter Crouch walks off BT Sport coverage before Tottenham complete comeback

Peter Crouch walked out of BT Sport's coverage of Tottenham's dramatic Champions League encounter with Olympiakos - after losing his voice!

Former Spurs and England striker Crouch was struggling from the outset as he joined Rio Ferdinand, Glenn Hoddle and host Gary Lineker in the studio before the game.

"I thought I'd retired from being substituted, but I think I have to go off," he joked, before adding "Where's Owen Hargreaves?" as he called for a replacement before kick-off.

He took his place in the studio at half-time with his former club trailing 2-1 - but after failing to find any words, he conceded defeat and walking out on the coverage.

As he high-fived his fellow pundits, Gary Lineker said: "Well, no more Crouch on the couch!

"He's no slouch, he just got a sore throat and no voice, ouch!

"We've sent him to his rather extra-long bed.

"Perhaps he knew what was going to happen in that first half."

Crouch immediately took to Twitter , stating: "I thought I got away with the no voice thing", then sharing footage with the joke "That's the look of a man who has been subbed before".

Spurs trailed 2-0 after just 19 minutes in Jose Mourinho's first home game in charge.

He withdraw Eric Dier for Christian Eriksen in a dramatic change after just half an hour and they were gifted a breakthrough by a defensive error on the stroke of half-time as Dele Alli tapped in.

Just after half-time, after Crouch's withdrawal from the BT Sport coverage, Harry Kane fired in an equaliser.

And their dramatic comeback was completed by full-back Serge Aurier, who fired a powerful half-volley into the bottom corner.

Kane ensured they would not face a nervy finale with his second goal 15 minutes from time as Mourinho's men marched into the knockout stages with a game to spare.
