Peter Crouch slams 'stupid' moment during Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Former England international Peter Crouch has slammed Wilfried Zaha following Crystal Palace's loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs came into the Premier League clash in excellent form, winning three of their last four league outings, with the other result coming against Liverpool last week as Antonio Conte's side played out a 2-2 draw with the Reds.

The Lillywhites were able to climb up to fifth in the table if they defeated Palace on Sunday afternoon and they did just that thanks for first-half goals from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura, before Son Heung-min scored after the break.

However, the biggest talking point in the first period was arguably a few minutes after Moura's effort when Ivory Coast international Zaha received a red card after pushing centre-back Davinson Sanchez, earning himself a second yellow card in the process.

Spurs icon Crouch had his say on the incident, criticising Zaha for his conduct.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: "It is reckless you could say he [Sanchez] went down a bit easy on the first one but it’s just stupid you just shouldn’t get involved the first one and the second one.

"I just think he’s the type of player who wants to be involved in these types of confrontations. I don’t know if you remember the game at White Hart Lane, he got involved with Tanganga and from then on he played better and raised his game.

"He needs that kind of fire but he’s just gone too far and steps over the line on this occasion."

South Korean international Son then made it 3-0 to the north Londoners in the 74th minute, clinching all three points for Conte's men.
