Peter Crouch’s favourite Tottenham goal will bring back brilliant memories for Spurs fans

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch has been looking back on his favourite goals during his time at the club.

The ex-England man officially retired from the game in the summer after playing a total of 676 games in all competitions, with 93 of them coming for Spurs during a two-year stay at White Hart Lane.

Talking on Tottenham’s official Youtube channel , the former striker gave a rundown of his favourite three goals in a Spurs shirt.

It is perhaps no surprise the goal that he chose as his number one pick.

“Goal number one of my Tottenham career, has to be, I think you’ll all probably know, was the goal at the Etihad against Manchester City which confirmed Champions League qualification for us after so long,” he said.

“It was a huge achievement to get in there, we’d worked so hard for the whole season so to be the one to nick the goal that got us in there, I can’t explain to you the feeling of the moment that goal hit the back of the net

“I know a lot of Spurs fans speak to me every single day, when I see anyone, they all say that they remember where they were and what they were doing and if they were at the game, how amazing that feeling was.”

And it wasn’t just Crouch who celebrated that moment wildly.

“In all of the goals that I score in my career, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an away end go as mental as that particular moment,” he added.

“When I see it back now, it’s like an out of body experience. It wasn’t the best of goals, Younes Kaboul did fantastically well, it ricocheted up off the goalkeeper and I just nodded it in but that feeling of scoring that goal is unrivalled and like nothing I’ve ever experienced.”

Number three in the list was his goal against Inter Milan in the Champions League at White Hart Lane, while Crouch’s goal vs AC Milan at the San Siro in the competitions’ knock out stages.

The now 39-year-old scored 42 goals for Tottenham, but the one against Manchester City holds a special place in his heart.
