Peter Crouch reveals which 'strange' player must always be avoided at a Christmas party

As we approach Christmas party season, Peter Crouch has warned which players are the ones to avoid on a night out.

The Stoke City striker has enjoyed his fair share of festive shindigs over the years, reportedly part of 16 Tottenham players who travelled to Dublin was an unauthorised Xmas party in 2009.

Now in his 20th year as a professional, Crouch has played with a variety of keepers over the years including Jerzy Dudek, Pepe Reina, David James, Asmir Begovic, Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini. Plus those while on England duty.

"Get a couple of drinks down a goalkeeper and things change," he said on That Peter Crouch Podcast. "They become aggressive. It's like they’ve pulled off a good save at the Christmas do.

"They're always a bit strange. You don’t want to be stood next to a goalkeeper on a night out."

When pushed for more specific details, Crouch joked that he was not talking about any player in particular.

He added: "There's no reason behind that, I've generalised massively."

So let this to be a warning: find yourself next to a goalkeeper at the bar? Flee.
