In the red corner, at 6’ 7” and weighing in at 11 stone 3lbs is.... someone who admits they are the “wrong shape” for boxing.

“I’m probably the tallest featherweight in history,” he notes, drolly.
Admitting he hasn’t missed football as much as he expected since hanging up his boots in 2019, he says: “What has been tough is replacing the competitiveness my life has lost.”
“Believe it or not I’m now doing boxing,” he tells the Sunday Times. “Even though I’m the wrong shape and I’ve never been a fighter.
“Golf also fills that gap,” continues Peter, who is married to model Abbey Clancy.

“I played Harry Kane recently and he’s very good, as are Jamie Redknapp and Gareth Bale, but I’m gradually starting to hold my own.”
All his activities seem to be doing the trick.
“Unlike most retired footballers I don’t have to worry about my weight and since I stopped playing I haven’t put on a pound, even though more full English breakfasts have crept in,” he adds.
