Peter Crouch posts hilarious response to advert for League One striker

Peter Crouch has been entertaining fans on social media long before he announced his retirement from football in July.

A quick internet search brings up some of the big man's finest tweets which usually include poking fun at himself.

Now the former Liverpool striker has reacted to a job advert for a League One striker posted on employment website Indeed.

The advert was posted by DB Sports Agency who said they are looking for a forward with Championship experience to play for a club who have recently been in the Premier League.

Other requirements  include being able to hold up the ball and having a physical presence with wages being listed as £50-75,000 a year.

Crouchy shared a picture of the advert and included wife Abbey Clancy in a tweet which said he was 'back in the game'.

The advert has been confirmed as legitimate but does not say which club the agency are working for.

The four possible teams were believed to be Portsmouth, Bolton, Blackpool and Sunderland.

Portsmouth took to Twitter to deny the advert was theirs, asking fans to stop sending them messages requesting a trial.

Bolton signed striker Joseph Dodoo on Thursday after his contract at Rangers expired but have been looking to add to their squad after a recent ownership change.

A spokesperson for the sports agency told Express Sport : "I can confirm that the Job ad on Indeed for the football player position did come from our agency.

"To serve our client’s best interests we do not disclose any information regarding our affairs unless pre-authorised to do so.

"Our Platform has been used to fill both playing and non-playing positions within football.

"We hope to continue scaling this alternative digital solution and in doing so reduce the once great barrier to entry into the beautiful game."

Crouchy might not be coming out of retirement but we hope he keeps entertaining us off the pitch with more tweets like these...
