Peter Crouch beats Harry Kane as Tottenham's 'Team of the Decade' poll hijacked by Liverpool and Arsenal fans

Rivals fans appear to have hijacked Tottenham's end-of-decade poll to decide their best striker of the 2010s.

A three-man shortlist of Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Harry Kane - chosen by the club - went up against each other to earn the place up front of their best XI of the decade.

As expected, Kane took a dominant early lead after growing into one of the world's best strikers over the past five years.

However, a number of Liverpool and Arsenal fan accounts reacted by putting their support behind Crouch and hand the striker a commanding lead.

The poll finished with almost 600,000 votes cast, with Crouch racking in 61 per cent of the vote to Kane's 32%.

Poor Defoe had just 6%.

Spurs responded to the apparent collusion by appearing to tweet a message from Twitter about "suspicious activity on your account".

Crouch also had his say, backing his rival for the honour, tweeting: "I think it’s a close one but Harry just edges it for me."

The poll ended on Tuesday morning.
