Peter Crouch's rise to the Premier League and his hugely successful post-football career are reportedly set to be the subject of a new documentary.
The former England player's story is reportedly set to be told by Prime Video, and is set to air next year.
It will chronicle his rise from Dulwich Hamlet to Stoke City, playing in two world cups, marrying model Abbey Clancy in 2011 and his life after retirement.
The dad-of-four hosts a popular podcast, That Peter Crouch podcast, which has had guests such as Ed Sheeran.
This year he became a judge on ITV show The Masked Dancer, which he hopes has shown viewers a different side to him.
The former Liverpool and Spurs striker, who became famous for his jerky ‘robot’ goal celebration, said: “I think viewers have seen a different side to me.
“With football, I think you’re so guarded in interviews and you’re taught from such a young age to say nothing because you don’t want to be tripped up.
“But now I’ve finished football, I’ve just cared less. I’ve been more like, this is me, I am who I am.
“I think people can see the person I am behind the football.”
The documentary is said to being made by the team who worked on his last year's series Peter Crouch: Save Our Beautiful Game, which was shown on Discovery+.
It saw Crouchy return to Dulwich Halmlet, to help them move on from the devastation of the pandemic.
A source told the Sun: “Crouchy is one of football’s biggest characters so there is plenty of content to fill a feature-length production
“He seems to resonate with all football fans so Prime Video is expecting some big numbers to stream it.
“But this won’t be a traditional football documentary because, as Crouchy is (at) the centre, it will be borderline comedy.”
It seems Peter's popularity knows no bounds, as he even teamed up with former BGT winner Paul Potts to release a Christmas album.
Peter will be making his conductorial debut on the eight-track charity album – which gives popular football terrace chants a classical twist.
The well-known fan songs featured on the album will include “Enger-land, Enger-land, Enger-land”, “We Love You England”, and “V.A.R, My Lord, V.A.R”.
The concept album, titled “Crouchy Conducts The Classics”, has been created in partnership with bookmaker Paddy Power.
The former England star leads a 20-piece orchestra through a canon of terrace anthems, supported by a full gospel and chamber choir, and three world-class operatic soloists – including Paul Potts, who mesmerises with his stirring rendition of “You’re Not Singing Anymore”.
Peter Crouch said: “I’ve always dreamed of releasing my own album – so what better time than during a World Cup at Christmas?"
