Peter Crouch has revealed he hid from Mickey Rourke because the actor "nearly killed him".
The former footballer lifted the lid on some of the juiciest stories from his latest book I, Robot: How To Be A Footballer 2 , on today's This Morning.
Crouch admitted he had to collaborate some of the tales with his pals because they were so shocking.
The former Liverpool and Spurs striker explained that he met the Hollywood actor on a night out in Miami when he was around 21-years-old.
Crouch bumped into Mickey, who nicknamed him "robot boy", after his famous dance move while celebrating a goal for England.
Revealing all about the encounter, Peter said: "I walked past him and he said 'hey, you're robot boy'. I said 'yeah you're Mickey Rourke'.
"We had a great night, we hit it off. We then had a second night with him.
"Then the third night we were in the hotel room hungover. Got a knock on the door. I looked through and it was Mickey Rourke. Sounds like a lie by the way. It's mental.
"I said to the lads 'it's Mickey'. They said get rid. We didn't go for the third night."
Phillip pointed out that Mickey had slipped a letter under the door inviting Crouchy and the boys out for more partying.
Peter said: "He wrote a letter and put it underneath. He said he wanted to take us out for dinner as he had a lot of fun.
"That was that, I never saw him again. He's full on. I thought we were quite good but he was beyond us."
Crouch's new book is filled with incredible stories from his life, including another near-death experience.
He took wife Abbey Clancy out to a remote bay on a dingy and feared they were going to crash into the rocks when the anchor got stuck.
The footballer eventually managed to release the anchor by using a corkscrew, but didn't tell fellow layer Jermaine Jenas there was a problem before he took the boat out the next day.
Crouch also discussed playing "credit card roulette" when paying for expensive dinners and eating spaghetti bolognese for breakfast during his playing days.
At the end of the interview, Abbey and daughter Sophia, eight, sent a video message in after their appearance on Lorraine.
While Sophia praised her dad for his new book, giggling Abbey said: "I haven't [read it] and I don't intend to either."
