Peter Crouch explains how clash with ex-Newcastle captain left him 'looking like the fourth Bee Gee'

Former England international Peter Crouch has recounted the moment ex-Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini knocked four of his teeth out.

Coloccini and Crouch challenged for a header during the Potters' 2-1 win that day and a stray arm from the former Argentina international caught Crouch in the face.

The challenge knocked three of Crouch's teeth out, while another tooth was embedded in his jaw.

It left the former Liverpool and Tottenham star needing dental surgery to repair the damage and he now has fake teeth that have replaced the old ones.

Crouch now makes audiences laugh on his brilliant 'That Peter Crouch Podcast', and in the latest episode the 39-year-old is discussing injuries.

And when discussing the Coloccini incident he joked the challenge has now left him looking like the fourth member of 70s pop music group, the Bee Gees.

"The Coloccini one. He gave me an elbow and it was one of those that was intentional.

"I went to jump and he had one eye on me, elbow in the chops. I lost all four of my front teeth. They all fell out at the same time but I caught two of them.

"The other two were on the floor and the physio came on and my mouth was gushing with blood. I asked the physio if he could get my two teeth back in!

"I tried to play but there was no chance. I went back in at half-time and I tried to put the teeth back in. If you put them straight in milk apparently it keeps them alive so there is a possibility of getting them back in.

"It was awful, really. My front four teeth are all false. They are filed down to pegs and they are like veneers.

"I have been called the fourth Bee Gee at times and I would like to address it now that it was a medical procedure.

"I didn't want to look like the fourth Bee Gee but I can see it!"
