Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch issued an apology after drawing his old employers against Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The ex-England international conducted Monday's draw live on BT Sport and BBC Two, where the ties for the fifth round were also set.
Liverpool, having beaten Aston Villa in the third round last Friday, would perhaps have been hoping for a slightly easier tie as they navigate through a congested season.
That did not prove to be the case, however, as Crouch drew Jurgen Klopp's side for an FA Cup showdown with United later this month.
Crouch quickly apologised for the tough draw, pausing from his duties to state 'sorry about that' and then elaborating on the tie after the draw was concluded.
He added: "Yeah, I wasn't planning on that to be honest. It's a big, big tie. I played in one actually, managed to score the winner - I'll drop that one in!"
Among those left unhappy with the draw was Crouch's wife, Abbey Clancy, who said: "My Dad is going to kill you."
Crouch replied to his spouse: "I'll head straight to the spare room." - Accompanied by a face in hands emoji.
The winner of the tie between Liverpool and United will face either Stockport, West Ham or Doncaster Rovers in the fifth round.
