Peter Crouch and Rio Ferdinand disagree on who finishes higher between Liverpool and Man United

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch and ex-Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand disagree on who will finish higher in the league out of their former clubs.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently fifth in the table seven points off Manchester City who are at the summit, while United are one point adrift in second having played one game more than Liverpool.

United recently had their 13-game unbeaten run come to abrupt end thanks to a defeat to Sheffield United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have the opportunity to climb back into the top four with a win over Tottenham Hotspur in North London this evening.

Both Crouch and Ferdinand were part of BT Sport’s coverage of the game, and went on to discuss who will finish higher in the league this season, Liverpool or United.

“We [Ferdinand and Crouch] have already had a wager on this,” said Ferdinand.

Crouch added: “Well, I said before the game that I still think Liverpool will finish above United.”

Ferdinand responded by saying: “Nah, he’s drunk too many red wines during this lockdown period.

"I think United will finish above Spurs. We have had a little wager. What is it a case of red wine is it?"

Crouch then said: “A case of red wine or a charity of your choice. We do whatever you want. Liverpool will finish above United.”
