Peter Capaldi announces release date and more details about his first album

Peter Capaldi has revealed the release date for his first album - as he follows in the footsteps of his relative Lewis Capaldi.

Suicide Squad and former Doctor Who actor Peter used to be in a post punk band called The Dreamboys with Craig Ferguson in the eighties.

He decided to get back into the music industry soon after his cameo appearance in Lewis Capalid's official video for Someone You Loved in 2019.

Peter, who is the second cousin of Lewis’s dad Mark had stopped making music after his acting career took off.

However, he has spoken fondly over the years about his love of music and was spotted trying out guitars at Guitar Guitar in 2017 before also making a brief appearance on stage with The Blow Monkeys in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall in 2018.

The Daily Record can now reveal that The Thick of It star has been recording in La Casa E-Studio in Sierra Nevada.

The studio is owned by legendary producer Youth ( Killing Joke, The Orb, The Verve, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd ) and it is private, secluded, and luxurious, and within walking distance of the town of Albuñuelas and only half an hour's drive from Granada.

Youth and his team posted about Peter's latest progress with the album on Instagram saying: "We’ve finished all the mixes and the mastering is done.

"We’ve seen all the artwork and designs… you’ll love them!! And finally we know the release date next November. Thank you Peter!"

The studio clarified they meant this coming November 2021.

Fans can't wait and one said: "OMG can't wait!!! If there's a small dalek with little feet in socks I'm gonna explode with happiness!!"

Another added: "Please let it be his own artwork."
