Peter Bosz wowed by Rangers atmosphere as Lyon boss admits 'very special' Ibrox crowd had his side reeling

Lyon boss Peter Bosz admits the "very special" atmosphere at Ibrox unsettled his team before they got their first goal in the 2-0 win over Rangers.

The Ligue 1 giants sit top of Europa League Group A after a confident win in their opening fixture in Govan.

However, the start of the match saw Steven Gerrard 's side on top before Karl Toko Ekambi's fine strike tipped the balance in Lyon's favour.

And Bosz admits the roar from the Ibrox stands had his stars rattled against the Premiership champions before they took control of the game.

The Dutchman said: "The start of the match wasn't good, we gave the ball away a lot.

"We weren't calm with the ball, which is perhaps normal with the very special atmosphere, but after the first goal I think we played well.

"We could have scored again before half-time but we must also say that Anthony (Lopes) rescued us with a great save.

"In the second half I thought we played well, we worked the ball out wide and got a second goal.

"I can't say if this is a performance we can use as a reference point because I've only been here two months, it's true that we're getting better and better but to improve again we need to play that way for 90 minutes.

"But we really did play well in the second half."
