Peter Barrett vs. Danny Henry in the works for UFC on ESPN+ 31

Peter Barrett’s UFC debut is finally in the works.

The only fighter from Dana White’s Contender Series season 3 who has yet to have a debut fight completed or on the books, Barrett (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is targeted to face Danny Henry at UFC on ESPN+ 31.

A person with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking following an initial report from The Scrap.

UFC on ESPN+ 31 takes place April 25 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb. The event will stream on ESPN+.

Massachusetts’ Barrett punched his ticket to the big show with a win over Sang Hoon Yoo in August. After the fight, UFC president Dana White expressed finding inspiration in Barrett’s backstory. The 33-year-old regional veteran has won three out of his most recent four outings.

As for Henry (12-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC), the Scottish featherweight had a five-fight win streak snapped in March against Dan Ige. He was booked to fight Mike Davis in September, but withdrew for unknown reasons.

With the addition, the UFC on ESPN+ 31 lineup now includes:

  • Anthony Smith vs. Glover Teixeira
  • Cynthia Calvillo vs. Antonina Shevchenko
  • Evan Dunham vs. Michael Johnson
  • Anthony Rocco Martin vs. David Zawada
  • Shamil Gamzatov vs. Ovince Saint Preux
  • Ariane Carnelossi vs. Mackenzie Dern
  • Matt Frevola vs. Roosevelt Roberts
  • Raphael Pessoa vs. Alexander Romanov
  • Christos Giagos vs. Alan Patrick
  • Zak Cummings vs. Andrew Sanchez
  • Peter Barrett vs. Danny Henry
