Peter Andre was neighbours with Ant and Dec before fame but they rowed all the time

Peter Andre has shared a vintage celebrity titbit from his time as a pop star in the 1990s.

The former singer, 48, has revealed he was once Ant and Dec 's noisy neighbour, back when the Geordie duo were better known as PJ and Duncan.

Peter lived "right above" the double act's apartment and would often annoy the pair thanks to his love of late-night gatherings.

"My apartment was right above PJ and Duncan’s. They used to bang their brooms on the ceiling late at night because I had parties all the time," the dad-of-four recalled during an interview with The Guardian.

Before they became the nation's favourite TV duo, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly first rose to fame playing PJ and Duncan on CBBC drama Byker Grove.

The then-actors even used their character's names for their transfer into the music world, performing Top 20 hits like Our Radio Rocks and Shout under the moniker PJ & Duncan.

Their stint as Peter's neighbours came around the time of the release of their most iconic hit in 1994, Let's Get Ready to Rhumble.

"This was before they became Ant and Dec, before they were TV gods, and had just done Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble," Pete continued to explain.

"We were in competition with each other. But how life changed! Years later I remember seeing them heading off to the afterparties while I was the one going back home because I was over it."

Before rebranding as a reality TV personality after his appearance on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, Peter was best known for his stint as a heartthrob pop star in the 1990s.

His biggest hit Mysterious Girl peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1996, eventually reaching number 1 on re-release in 2004 after Peter's stint in the jungle.

Last month, the dad-of-four seemingly teased a surprise return to the world of music.

Taking to his Instagram account late one night in January, Peter shared a series of snaps with none other than former Love Island star Wes Nelson and other musicians enjoying a session at Rebel Records recording studio.

Given eldest son Junior's links to Rebel Records, there is every chance Peter was in studio in relation to his first born's budding music career, rather than planning his singing comeback.

Chatting at the the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards last year, the Mysterious Girl singer gushed with pride when discussing his teenage son's singing ambitions.

When quizzed about Junior following in his footsteps, Peter said: "Well, I think I'm going to be loving being the one on the other side watching."

"Do you know what's really funny? What's really amazing, I won't bore you with it but I'll be really brief with it, I went in to the studio to start my album and then we started focusing on Junior, because he's so good, and I'm just carrying on later."
