Peter Andre has told his ex-wife Katie Price to stop involving him in her ‘circus’ after she alleged he negatively impacted her mental health.
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker split from the former Page 3 pin-up in 2009 after four years of marriage, and the couple share two children together - Junior, 16, and Princess, 14.
Peter, 48, has previously refused to comment on his ex-wife’s private life, but he took to social media last week to hit out at the model after she claimed he was using their kids “as a pawn”.
According to OK! the singer spoke out because he was fed up with being dragged into Katie’s drama, and wants no part of her ‘circus’.
“Once in a while he feels he needs to put it out there that it’s not him and he doesn’t do those sort of things,” a source explained.
“It’s a circus and it’s not something he wants to be involved in,” they added.
A rep for Peter has yet to comment.
Katie openly criticised Peter and her third ex-husband Kieran Hayler - with whom she shares Jett, eight, and daughter Bunny, seven - in a scathing post on her Instagram Stories last week, as she alleged they were selling stories about her.
She said her former husbands had “contributed to the state of my mental health” after it emerged Peter and Kieran were livid over Katie’s surprise plans to wed fiancé Carl Woods in Las Vegas earlier this month.
“I’m asking you both kindly to leave me alone now and stop making money from my name and using it for headlines involving our kids. Using kids as a pawn is not fair,” she wrote.
In a rare move, the musician fired back, and wrote in a post on Instagram: “I don’t do stories. It’s not my bag. I never get involved. Just thought I’d let anyone interested know. Nice try though.”
A source close to Peter said he was forced to make the statement because he wanted to clear his name, and was “tired” of his ex spreading stories about him.
And he’s not the only one who is seemingly fed up with the 43-year-old’s antics, as Kieran refused to speak about his ex in an interview with The Sun, and simply responded: “I’m done with it.”
Katie and Carl jetted off to Las Vegas earlier this month amid reports they were set to tie the knot, and were spotted obtaining a marriage license while in Sin City.
Despite shopping for wedding dresses and visiting a chapel, they didn’t go through with the nuptials, and instead claimed that they were in Vegas filming for the author’s YouTube channel.
“We was out filming some YouTube content and documenting how easy it would be to get married in Vegas,” she claimed.
