Peter Andre teary after surprising Junior with moped for 16th birthday

Peter Andre was left overwhelmed with emotion after surprising his son Junior with a scooter for his sixteenth birthday.

In a touching clip shared on the family's YouTube channel, Pete's mini-me looked delighted as he opened the front door to a shiny red two-wheeler.

Turning to his dad, 48, and stepmum Emily, 31, he beamed: "No way, you actually got me one.

"Look at his face, oh my gosh. Dad, thank you so much, I love you.

"I'm getting emotional guys. What the hell, how did you convince him? Wow."

Peter became visibly emotional and teary-eyed as Junior came over to give him a thank-you cuddle, reports the Mirror.

Junior is the eldest of Pete's kids from his first marriage to Katie Price, and is big brother to Princess, 13.

Peter also has two children with Emily, Amelia, seven, and Theo, four.

The Aussie singer shares their adventure and antics with fans on the YouTube channel and later explained what it was about seeing Junior's reaction that got him overwhelmed.

He said: "I got emotional because I'm a big softie."

But Pete is also a sensible and protective dad, so he explained that the moped has been speed limited to 30mph, and can only be driven on local roads.

NHS hero Emily added that they had booked his test for July 3.

Last week Pete and Junior sat down for a chat with OK! Magazine, where they explained that they frequently clash over Pete's strict parenting.

Pete said: "For his birthday he wants things I really don’t want him to have. For example, earrings, a moped and a few other things. I get why he wants the earrings and he’s a good-looking lad, but it scares me.

"I’m scared of the moped as I’ve never ridden a motorbike, but Junior has assured me they can only go 30mph and can’t go on certain roads. So maybe I’m overthinking it.

"He could rebel, but then the difference is he wouldn’t be coming into my house!"

But for Junior he is already excited about upgrading to four wheels.

He added: "I’ll be driving in a year. I cannot wait; that’s my dream right now. I can drive wherever I want."

Junior's incredible gift is a real U-turn for Pete.

Ten years ago the Mirror revealed that Katie had bought Junior a £1,200 mini-moto for his sixth birthday - and Pete wasn't impressed.

A source told 3am: “Pete is not a motorbike fan. And he doesn’t want his precious son gallivanting around on a powerful bike. He contacted Kate direct and expressed his concerns but she reassured him it’s a bike for kids and Junior will be fine.”
