Peter Andre's wife Emily slams complaints about BBC coverage of Prince Philip death

Emily Andre has slammed the more than 100,000 people who complained to the BBC over their news coverage following the death of Prince Philip.

The 31-year-old wife of Peter Andre took aim at those who thought it was not acceptable for shows to be postponed or cancelled on BBC One and Two, after news broke of the Duke of Edinburgh passing away.

Shows like Masterchef were pulled from the schedule and the BBC set up a page online for those who wanted to share their grievances about he decision made by the broadcaster at short notice.

The BBC has since confirmed that is received 109,741 complaints from the public and Emily believes that this was unwarranted.

Writing in her OK! Magazine column, the NHS doctor shared her thoughts on the negative reaction to Auntie Beeb.

She wrote: “I was surprised that more than 100,000 people complained about the BBC’s coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.

“I don’t quite see the need to complain, because it means a lot to a lot of people, and it was such an important thing to cover.”

Emily added that we were "lucky" to have plentiful choice on television, with many viewers having hundreds of channels to choose from.

She continued: "If you don’t like something there are plenty of other channels available!

“I think it was really nice that they did such good coverage, but I do understand that I follow the Royal Family and not everyone does, so I guess it just wasn’t for everyone.”
