Peter Andre's wife Emily MacDonagh is battling shingles.
The 36-year-old National Health Service (NHS) doctor took to Instagram on Saturday (28.03.26) and revealed she has the painful, blistering skin rash, which anyone of any age can suffer from
Emily said in the video: "I wanted to share something a bit personal, but also hopefully helpful.
"So you might have seen my videos this week, where I've mentioned I've had a minor health issue. Basically, what's happened is I've been diagnosed with shingles.
"So as a doctor, I thought this was a good opportunity to do a bit of education about what shingles is."
The star then detailed her first warning sign of the infection, which is brought on by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus - the same virus that causes chickenpox.
Emily said: "For me personally, I noticed a pain and just odd sensations under my arm, and then a couple of days later, the rash appeared on my back on one side.
"And it is typically just on one side of the body, often in a band or a strip, and it then develops into fluid-filled blisters that can be quite painful."
The mom of three said it is "definitely not something I expected to be dealing with", but she hopes her health admission will raise awareness of shingles - which is not contagious itself, but an individual can get chickenpox from someone with shingles if they have not had chickenpox before.
Emily said: "If you notice symptoms that sound similar, please, please get them checked early. There's always the NHS's website. It's really helpful. It has lots of advice and information.”
She then ended her video with: "As for me, I'm kind of hoping to start feeling better soon and back to myself, so I hope that was helpful and stay well, everyone."
Fans rushed to the post's comments section to give their well-wishes to the doctor - who married Peter, 53, at Mamhead House and Castle in Devon, South West England, in July 2015.

A second supporter typed: "I hope you're feeling much better now Emily (sic)."

Emily and Peter have three children, daughters Amelia, 12, and Arabella, two, as well as eight-year-old son, Theo.
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker also has son Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 18, with his 47-year-old ex-wife, media personality Katie Price.
