Peter Andre's wife Emily barely sees the kids as she fights COVID-19 on hospital frontline

Peter Andre 's wife Emily has weighed in on the coronavirus pandemic as she gave her predictions on what will happen going forward.

As a junior medic, 30-year-old Emily has been helping patients at a hospital in Surrey while her husband of four years Peter, 47, takes care of their two children Amelia, six, and three-year-old Theo.

The mum-of-two said she believes the deadly bug is unlikely to disappear until a vaccine is developed to combat the virus.

Writing in OK!, she stated: "I think some people are hoping the virus will disappear, but until we get a vaccine that is unlikely to happen, so now it's about avoiding a steep increase in the number of cases so the NHS doesn't become overwhelmed again."

Emily has also stressed that the current situation has already taken a toll on the NHS as it is, with other scheduled treatments taking a backseat as frontline workers combat the virus.

She wrote: "The worry is with everything being delayed there will be a backlog of treatments, along with more people attending hospital and their GP with other illnesses which will also put pressure on the NHS."

Emily previously said she's dealing with long hours, staff shortages and the constant fear she will infect her family after treating patients all day.

She then went on to urge people to listen to the NHS advice regarding the virus, as she points out: "Since the outbreak began, many people are scared about going to hospital or visiting their GP, but there are separate Covid and non-Covid areas to keep patients separate.

"There is clear advice on the NHS website about when you should seek medical advice, so don’t ignore worrying symptoms."

Emily said that that she leaves the family home at 7:30 in the morning - without seeing the kids - and heads to her long shifts at the hospital.

Then after her gruelling shifts, Emily said she often returns home late and doesn't get to spend any time with her two youngsters before heading off to bed.

But the mum said she and her co-workers are spurred on by the generosity and support for the NHS, which has helped lift their moods over the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, Peter has been homeschooling their little ones since the lockdown in March, as children Princess and Junior - who he shares with ex0wife Katie Price - stay with him.

The Mysterious Girl singer said that he and Emily have been 'social distancing' at home in order to be 'sensible'.

However, he said they were still sleeping in the bed as their mattress is 'two metres wide.'

But speaking to OK! Magazine, Peter said two were not being intimate with each other and were "kissing and hugging through windows".
