Peter Andre and Katie Price stunned fans last night with a rare and candid exchange on Twitter .
Katie first tweeted her former husband to say: "I had a tough year last year! A person stirred trouble with me and Pete which he reacted to protect our children! Yes I said things but I was upset and didn’t mean harm! Me and Pete love each other really lol ! I’m sorry @MrPeterAndre if I hurt you!"
A few hours later Peter reshared Katie's Katie Price APOLOGISES to ex Peter Andre and insists they still love each other and replied: "Do you know what, I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you" - followed up with two smiley faces.

Fans initially thought Peter was being very gentlemanly in his response to Katie, who had called him a 'b***end' only weeks ago.
"Pete what a gent you are!" cried one. Another added: "A gentleman response Pete. Let’s hope her uncalled for public outbursts against you are done, period!"
However, there were some who accused Pete of being civil in public purely to show Katie up.

"Well played Mr Andre. You have shown that you will not drop to her levels," one observed.
It was even questioned if the Twitter exchange had been a planned act of promotion to get them both in the spotlight.
'All for the publicity," cried one. "What a publicity stunt," added another with an eye roll emoji.
"Surely you both have each others telephone numbers," added another, pondering why they couldn't have had the chat in private.
Others were so stunned by their exchange that the suspected Pete's account must have been hacked as it was unlike him to be so public about Katie.
The Mysterious Girl singer is usually a very private person and normally refuses to speak about Katie, who he was married to from 2005 to 2009.
"I'm thinking both of these accounts have been hacked. Surely you would not have replied so publicly when you have always stayed away from her comments," said one fans of Peter's.
Earlier this year, Peter point blank refused to speak about Katie when he was confronted by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.
Katie has been very public in her annoyance that Pete won't let their children together, Junior and Princess, take part in filming for her reality show.
Speaking at her fashion launch at Ballie Ballerson in Shoreditch, Katie fired; "Junior is skiing and I’ve got Princess here but Pete won’t let me film with her because he’s a b***end."
