Peter Andre's house is struck by lightning as he says 'thank God Princess is OK'

Peter Andre’s family home has been left damaged as it had been struck by lightning. The singer, 49, took to his Instagram for 1.8 million followers to show the significant damage that his family home had sustained after heavy rain in the UK on Sunday.

Peter and 15-year-old daughter Princess, who he shares with ex-wife Katie Price, were believed to be in the house at the time of the incident, but both were unharmed. As reported by The Mirror, posting on Instagram, Peter wrote: "Our house just got struck by lightning. The loudest thing I’ve ever heard. Alarms going off. This is mad."

He concluded: "Thank god princess is ok. Although don’t know what was louder, her scream or the roof."

Peter stepped outside in the torrential rain to get proof of the damage caused by the adverse weather, with the chimney of his family home having two large cracks and several bricks missing from the top of the structure.

He zoomed in on the damage with the loud noise of house alarms and car sirens going off in the background.

The Mysterious Girl singer said in the video: "Alright, the house has been struck by lightning," before he was interrupted by another flash of lightning and a loud rumbling of thunder. He added: "Flipping heck. Holy heck," as he panned to the debris.

People flooded the comment section of the post, including wife Emily, who was away at the time.

She wrote: " I’m just so glad you are all ok. Typical the one week I am away this happens."

TV personality Lizzie Cundy replied: "Come to mine," followed by three crying face emojis, while Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas said: " Hope you're ok brother."

Peter recently opened up about how he had to reassure his teenage children he hadn't edited a photo of them, causing him to reflect that "sadly" a lot of people don't know how beautiful they are.

The singer shared a photo of Junior, 17, and Princess, at a Halloween event on his Instagram, but the pair mistakenly thought the snap had been altered.

Peter, who also shares Amelia, eight, and Theo five, with his wife Emily, wrote about the incident in his OK! Column. The reality TV star told his fans: "I recently shared a picture of Princess and Junior at the Tulleys Shocktober Fest launch night.

"They both said they loved the photo and asked me what I’d done to it to make it look like that!"
