Peter Andre's Dr wife Emily backs vaccine passports but says there should be exemptions

Peter Andre 's wife Emily has revealed that she’s ‘all for’ Covid vaccine passports – but there should be some exemptions in special circumstances.

The NHS doctor admitted that she would be ‘more than happy’ to see the government introduce a vaccine passport scheme if it means the nation can get back to normality as soon as possible.

The 31-year-old shared her thoughts in her latest OK! Magazine column where she suggested that although it’s a good idea to kickstart the vaccine passport scheme, there should be some considerations when it comes to certain groups of people.

Although there has been a public outburst in relation to the idea, with many claiming it’s an ‘extreme’ move by the UK government, Emily feels it will get the nation back on track.

“I do understand people’s worries when it comes to the possibility of a Covid status certification scheme – or a vaccine passport.

“For me personally, I’d be happy for this to happen as long as there were some exemptions, for example, children, pregnant women, and people who can’t have the vaccine for medical reasons.

“It would be unfair to penalise certain groups who are currently unable to get vaccinated."

She went on: “If it takes a vaccine passport to get out and about and get things opening up again, then I’m all for it."

The mum-of-two also admitted that she felt it was a wise move from the government to offer people two Covid-19 tests per week in order to encourage those who have no symptoms to regularly test themselves.

In the long run, Emily thinks the process will be a ‘great’ way of stopping the spread of the deadly virus.

It comes after the celebrity doctor slammed ‘scaremongers’ who have been encouraging people to not get the vaccine due to the threat of blood clots.

In a recent column, Emily reiterated the fact that there is no evidence that the vaccination causes blood clots, and out of the 17 million people who have already received the jab, there have only been 37 incidents relating to blood clots.

Peter Andre’s wife took it upon herself to encourage fans to not be put off by the ‘misleading information’.

She insisted: “Stories like this do not help when we’re trying to reassure millions to get their jab. I just hope no one has been put off by these reports and this misleading information.”
