Peter Andre has admitted he laid down strict rules for his daughter Princess as she filmed her new ITV documentary series, The Princess Diaries.
The teenager, who recently turned 18, gives viewers a glimpse into her life in the spotlight in the four-part series, including making the candid admission that she wished she’d had a happier childhood.
However, Andre, 51, said he made sure to set boundaries about what could and couldn’t be included.
“I was very strict about what she wasn’t allowed to [film],” the Australian singer and actor said. “I didn’t really want her doing a lot of stuff before she got to the age that she can do it herself
“It’s tough for me to cut that umbilical cord at 18, but I’m really proud of her. I think she’s a really sweet person and I hope people see that. I just want her to shine and become her own little true gem,” the dad-of-five added to the MailOnline.

Andre, who shares Princess with ex-wife Katie Price, admitted he still struggles with “letting go of the reins” as his daughter grows up. “They might be grown up in actual age, but they’re still your baby,” he said.
The comments come amid renewed tensions between Andre and Price, who claimed on her podcast that she was banned from appearing in the series.
The Mysterious Girl hit-maker later issued a rare public statement firing back at his former spouse’s remarks about their children.
“For 16 years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today,” he wrote on Instagram.
He said Princess and her brother Junior had lived with him since 2018 under a legally binding family court order made the following year, and insisted he had avoided going public with the arrangement out of respect for them.
Price subsequently responded with a social media post reflecting on her past struggles with addiction, mental health, and relationships.
Soon after, footage leaked by another of her ex-husband’s, Alex Reid, showed her waving cash and calling Andre’s younger children with wife Emily “irrelevant” in front of Princess.
A source told the Mirror that Andre was “shocked” by the video, adding: “It’s not about the money. How could a mother do that about young children?”
