Peter Andre said he has no regrets after posting his cheeky wedding message to Boris Johnson on social media.
When news broke that the PM had tied the knot in secret with Carrie Symonds late last month, the Mysterious Girl singer, 48, took to Instagram to offer his congratulations to the happy couple.
However, his risque joke backfired, and Peter confessed that some of his followers weren't impressed with his lewd take on the couple's big day.
"Enjoy your wedding BJ. Probs said that wrong," his post read at the time, alongside a snapshot from the surprise wedding.
In his latest column for new! magazine, Peter explained he just enjoys having a bit of banter, and didn't intend for his joke to cause such a fuss.
"Anyone who knows me realises I like to have a laugh and be cheeky. But when I posted on Instagram my congratulations message to Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds about their wedding, I got mixed reviews," he wrote.
"I love how some people didn't get it, and others thought I accidentally wrote it without realising the wordplay."
But Peter said he stands by his cheeky message, and offered up his congratulations once again to the newlyweds.
"I love a bit of banter and I don't think I could have worded it better. So congrats PM!" he added.
Some of Peter's followers were fooled by his apparent blunder, and commented on his post.
"Most men’s dream wedding," one joked, while another wrote: "We know what you got off Emily on your wedding night then."
The politician wed Carrie, 33, the mother of his youngest child – one-year-old Wilfred – in a private ceremony on May 29 at Westminster Cathedral.
It's the third marriage for Boris, who drew criticism after it was revealed he shouldn't have been allowed to wed in the Catholic cathedral because he's been divorced twice.
However, it was suggested that the PM was allowed to marry at the stunning venue because his previous marriages – to Allegra Mostyn-Owen in 1987 and Marina Wheeler in 1993 – had not been Catholic ceremonies.
The happy couple later shared images from their wedding day on social media.
Carrie, who wore a show-stopping white tiered dress by Christos Costarellos, reportedly hired the designer frock for her big day, while Boris wore a suit and tie.
