Peter Andre defends 'nothing but nice' Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield amid ITV feud

Peter Andre has jumped to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's defence amid the behind-the-scenes drama on This Morning.

After weeks of intense scrutiny and reports about Holly and Phil's soured friendship, the latter made the decision to step down as presenter on the show.

The ITV presenter announced on Saturday that he would be parting ways with the flagship programme after a 13-year partnership with Holly amid an ongoing 'feud' between the pair.

With the duo hitting headlines, many - including Eamonn Holmes - t ook sly jabs at the presenters but Peter made sure to show his support for them.

"Obviously I have no idea what’s going on and I can’t judge a situation I know nothing about," he wrote in his column.

"But they’ve never been anything but nice to me during the numerous times we’ve met and chatted on This Morning."

He added to OK magazine: "No one really knows what’s going on other than those involved."

Phil's departure announcement was met with mixed reactions from former guests and presenters of the show.

Some shared their support for Phil, 61, whilst others used the opportunity to make a sly dig at the star.

Former This Morning presenter Eamonn recently made a sly dig when he uploaded a snap of his granddaughter Emilia kissing his cheek as he told his followers: "Pappa got a smacker. Thank u Emilia. All in all that rounded off what turned out to be a good day".

Fans who thought the former This Morning presenter was hinting at Phillip's exit responded back to the Irish journalist. One follower wrote: "Ha ha Eamonn, I know you must be happy with the news".

Another added: "I see what you did there. Love it".

He also made a comment about the ongoing feud between Phillip and Holly on his GB News show.

"I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors," he said, referring to the TV BAFTAs that took place last Sunday night.

Former guest Kim Woodburn didn't hold back her thoughts on Holly and Phil, as she hit out at the pair earlier this month, branding Phil an “obnoxious, horrible man,” and Holly a “two-faced b***h”.

The presenting duo did receive support from some fans as well as from Matthew Wright, who was 'gutted' by the news.
