Peter Andre and Emily Macdonagh's first meeting wasn't exactly the stuff of fairytales.
The pop star first laid eyes on his future wife when her dad was treating him for kidney stones.
She was just 20 at the time, 16 years younger than Peter, but that didn't stop them from falling head over heels for each other.
Conscious of the age gap, Peter, who was a year out of his marriage with Katie Price, asked Emily's dad for permission to date her.
But they decided to keep their relationship secret until 2012, when she finally appeared on his reality TV show.
While they knew their love was strong, they faced criticism and doubt from cruel trolls on social media who said it wouldn't work.
Now, as they celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary, the couple have proved the haters wrong and they are happier than ever - and the parents to two beautiful children.
The Mysterious Girl singer marked the special day with a photo montage on Instagram set to Stevie Wonder's Overjoyed.
"Just like that, we’ve been married for 6 years. You're not only the most amazing wife, you are an incredible mother to our children," he gushed.
"You also are the kindest person I know. Happy Anniversary Emily," he said alongside super cute snaps of the couple vacationing around the world.
Emily and Pete married at Mamhead House and Castle in Devon, after Peter said he "fell in love" with the place as soon as he saw it.
Sadly, the venue has since gone into liquidation, leaving many couples heartbroken, with the owner banned for nine months from starting a new business after he pocketed deposits despite knowing the company was going under.
Some naysayers thought Emily and Pete's marriage might not last due to the 16-year age gap between them, but as the years go on the couple prove they are stronger than ever.
Emily has admitted comments about the age gap, including cruel trolls who claim she looks like Peter's daughter, do affect her.
"The downside [of fame] is people being nasty," she told OK! Magazine.
"In the past I've read people criticising me and Pete, whether it’s the age difference or our appearance, and I find it hard when people say I’m too young to be with him – my skin is not thick enough and I find it very upsetting.
"He’s in his forties and he looks great. He still comes home to me and gives me cuddles," she added.

Their daughter Amelia, now seven, was at the wedding and they now also have little Theo, four.
While Peter's older children have been famous since the day they were born, Emily didn't want the same for her kids and the couple choose not to show their children's faces to protect their privacy.
He told Closer magazine: "There are some parents that don't want to do it and you've got to respect that as well. Emily's one of those parents that doesn't want it so I've got to respect that."

Peter later added to Heart: "With Junior and Princess, they were born into it.
"Yeah sure it wasn’t their choice when I think about it, but they were born into it. And now as teenagers, they love it."
While Theo's face was accidentally glimpsed on Loose Women last year, he and Amelia's faces are generally obscured, with any social media pictures taken from behind.
The couple both battled coronavirus last year, and Peter has admitted homeschooling the children during lockdown killed their sex life.

“Homeschooling is the new garlic!” he joked to The Sun.
"If you could see the madness in this house the last thing you'd want to think about is having more children," he continued.
"We spoke about it during the first lockdown. We thought, ‘Ah, this is great, we’re all together.’
"Emily was still working hard but during those 'off' times it was like a summer holiday at home."

However, by the third lockdown, Peter confessed he started thinking it was a “crazy idea".
Emily has also confirmed they are not planning to have another child any time soon - though she does miss the feeling of a newborn.
In her OK! magazine column, she penned: "So many of my friends have had babies this year and they'll send me pictures of them breastfeeding. It just makes me think about how much I loved it.
"Don't get me wrong, though, it's hard work when they're that young and I don't miss the sleepless nights, but I do miss the lovely feeling of having a newborn.

"But I definitely don't feel tempted to have another baby at the moment! You'd think all my friends having babies would make me broody but I'm not broody at all."
Emily added that she "might change her mind", but for now she is rather content with her little family.
And the mum-of-two has also confirmed she does not spoil the kids or give them pocket money - because she wants them to appreciate the value of money and how to manage it.
"The kids have never had pocket money, but if they want something I won't just get it for them, I will save it for a birthday or Christmas," she wrote in her OK! column.

"I keep their presents within reasonable limits so it's not too over the top. I also try to help them understand that Mum and Dad have to go to work so we are able to buy things for them.
"It's a hard concept for kids actually!"
Emily added that she started working as a babysitter when she was just 15 and was grateful for the lessons it taught her.
And their attitude is clearly paying off - Peter recently shared his pride at how his son Junior is earning his own money though modelling and is saving up for his first car when he turns 17 next year.
While Emily and Peter may look the picture of domestic bliss, Pete recently jokingly accused Emily of being messy and claimed he does most of the housework in a game of Mr and Mrs on their YouTube channel.
But Emily was having none of it - flabbergasted, she shot back: "All in all you heap the blame on me for loads of stuff!
"I have to sit here and defend myself. You've said I'm not very good at time keeping, messier than you and do less housework than you," she added.
