Pete Wicks praises ex Megan McKenna's strength after Mike Thalassitis' tragic death

Pete Wicks has praised his ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna for remaining dignified following Mike Thalassitis ' tragic death.

Megan was devastated when her ex-boyfriend was found dead in March.

Mike had taken his own life at the age of 26.

A shocked Megan kept quite on social media at first, before putting out a statement that said: "Sorry I haven't been on social media but I'm in complete shock and trying to come to terms with this.

"I can't believe I'm even writing this post.

"My thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family. Rest in peace Mike x"

Since then, Megan, 26, has put on a brave face as she returned to work, flying out to Nashville to work on her country music career.

He's glad they're friends again (E4)

And Pete, who has opened up about his own battles with mental health, praised her for maintaining her dignity.

He told the Daily Mail : "I'm glad she's had a bit of space to deal with everything that has happened. I'm really pleased me and her are friends again.

"She's a really strong person so burying herself in work is the best thing for her and I'm sure her new music is going to be great.

"I thinks she has been very, very dignified throughout the whole thing and it just goes to show the strength of character she has got."

The 30-year-old reality star says his pet French Bulldogs Peggy and Eric have helped him cope through what he called "three rough years".

He says he finally feels "really happy" and like he's found "peace of mind".
