Pete Wicks and Carol Vorderman to 'go on date' as TOWIE star wants to be 'one of her special friends'

Pete Wicks has called for Carol Vorderman to go out on a date with him after she was told he wanted to be 'one of her special friends'.

The 62-year-old Countdown icon has been very open and honest about her life and previously admitted that she dates multiple men at the same time.

And last month Carol was told during an interview that Pete was interested in getting to know her.

On Pete's Staying Relevant podcast with pal Sam Thompson, Sam announced that he had been tagged in something which he described as "the best thing he has ever seen in his life."

A clip is then played of Carol being interviewed by a vlogger named Holly Jay-Smith, who asked her: "Do you know who Pete Wicks is?"

Carol then replied: "Yes."

Holly replied: "On his podcast he said he wants to be one of your men!"

Carol burst into laughter, and was then shown his picture and she smiled: "Yeah, is that official now?"

The clip ends and Pete laughed: "Yes Carol, it's official!

Sam announced: "Carol Vorderman has just said you can take her on a date!"

Pete then looked into the camera and said: "Carol let me know when you're free, and I can't wait to, we can talk math we can have a really good night on tequila and we can wake up in the morning and I can make you breakfast!"

And fans took to the comments, saying they would love for Pete and Carol to get together.

One wrote: "And just like that it’s a date."

Another added: "interesting combo."

Another said: "If you pull that off!! You lucky b******!"

Carol has opened up about her dating life as she said she is "not ready to settle down" and is loving the casual dating scene.

We previously reported how she spoke of her five "special friends". When she was pressed if she was in a relationship during an appearance on the Rule Breakers podcast, she said: "I have a system which I've had for ten years.

"They're called 'special friends'. I spoke a couple of months ago about having 'special friends' and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said 'I'd never thought about it like this'."

Speaking about the duration of her bond with each of her "special friends", she said: "[I've been with one] 11 years, one seven years. You know everyone is single. It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one-night stands."
