Pete Werner returns to practice on first Saints vs. Buccaneers injury report

Wednesday’s initial injury report for the New Orleans Saints’ Week 15 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t feature much good news. Bookend offensive tackles Ryan Ramczyk (knee) and Terron Armstead (knee) were each non-participants, along with backups like linebacker Kaden Elliss (hamstring), tight end Garrett Griffin (hamstring), and wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey (hamstring).

The good news is that promising rookie linebacker Pete Werner (elbow) returned to work after missing some time. New Orleans also appears to be playing it safe with impact defenders like edge rusher Marcus Davenport (toe) and slot corner C.J. Gardner-Johnson (shoulder).

Other players not listed on the injury report who returned to practice include wide receiver Ty Montgomery (who was on the COVID-19 list) and tight end Adam Trautman (from injured reserve). Here’s everything you need to know:
