Pete Werner officially signs rookie contract with Saints

We continue to keep an eye on all the former Ohio State players that officially ink their rookie contracts after hearing their names called in the 2021 NFL draft.

The latest comes out of New Orleans with former Buckeye linebacker Pete Werner signing his four-year rookie contract according to an announcement from the team. The deal is reportedly worth $5,684,680 over the four years, with a guaranteed signing bonus of $1,494,312.

Werner was the second Buckeye taken off the board in the second round of the draft. He had an underrated career with Ohio State and graded out in some circles as a late first-round talent.

Now that Werner has gotten the business side of things out of the way, he can focus on getting through preseason workouts to be ready to make a splash in the Big Easy. We’ll be following his journey closely, so stay with us.
