Pete Tong defends 'older' Michael Gove going clubbing in Aberdeen and suggests he should become a DJ

Iconic DJ Pete Tong has defended Michael Gove being the poster boy for older people gong clubbing and has suggested he should become a DJ.

Pete, 61, who appears simultaneously at Club Rewind in London and Glasgow's Barras Art and Design Centre tonight with Carl Cox for a night themed on noughties Ibiza using gigabit broadband, was appearing on Good Morning Britain this morning.

Presenter Susanna Reid asked Pete about 51 year old Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Michael Gove's recent viral video of him dancing in an Aberdeen club.

She said: "Michael Gove was seen dancing in a club in Aberdeen and a lot of people said men of a certain age cannot be clubbing.

She questioned: "Pete that cannot be the case. There can not be an age limit..."

Pete jumped to Michael's defense saying: "I don't think so. It's all about relapsed ravers coming back."

He added: "If you love music you should be able to enjoy it."

But the Essential Selection DJ also suggested another way Michael could go clubbing other than dancing.

He added: "When it comes to dancing, I'm not so sure about that.

"I'm not sure - maybe he should be a DJ."
