Pete Taylor files High Court personal injury case over 2018 shooting

Boxing trainer Pete Taylor has filed a High Court case against a number of defendants over personal injuries sustained in a shooting at Bray Boxing Club in 2018.

Mr Taylor - the father of professional boxing star Katie - was shot in the arm and chest during a June 2018 attack on the club.

50-year-old Bobby Messett was killed in the shooting and another man, Ian Britton, was shot in the leg.

Wicklow County Council, the Irish Athletic Boxing Association, Bray Boxing Club, Irish Amateur Boxing Association and Irish Boxing Association are listed as defendants.

The boxing club and gym has remained closed since the shooting, which occurred almost exactly two years ago.

Mr Taylor's partner Karen Browne has also filed a case against the same defendants.

Wicklow County Council told The Irish Mirror that they would not be commenting on the matter.
