The Jacksonville Jaguars have nowhere to go but up after registering a 1-15 record in 2020. With that figure marking the worst in the NFL and a franchise-low, they will likely end up with Trevor Lawrence, which could help them register a record closer to .500 — if not better.
However, nobody may be higher on the Jags’ chances to improve than CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, who believes the postseason is a real possibility for the Jags next season. With a bolstered staff, a plethora of cap space and draft picks (including Lawrence), Prisco said he felt the Jags were an easy fix after the Super Bowl, but added they wouldn’t be ready for a push for the Lombardi Trophy until later.

“I don’t believe they can make a Super Bowl run, but they have four picks in the top-45. They are going to get him [Lawrence], they have Urban Meyer coaching, they have a good staff, they have the most money in free-agency, and a bunch of good young players,” said Prisco.
“If they can’t fix it, something is wrong with Urban Meyer. They’re not going to be a deep playoff team next year, but they have a chance to be a playoff team.”
Prisco is right about the Jags having plenty of assets to fix their roster. He could also be right about the Jags’ staff. In our most recent episode of “Bleav in the Jags,” I broke down the key staff additions of Darrell Bevell and Brian Schottenheimer. In the episode before that, former Jags defensive end Austen Lane praised and broke down the addition of new defensive coordinator Joe Cullen. In a nutshell, all three assistants have the ability to get the best out of the roster when the spring rolls around.
Of course, the Jags luck in free agency and the draft will help the football community better predict a figure record wise. However, if they are able to come out of the process with approximately eight good starters, it could be the perfect start for them to begin receiving postseason predictions.
