Pete Doherty shows off slimmed down figure on stage after enjoying life in France

Pete Doherty has showed that he has slimmed down since living in France after he was pictured on stage in Coventry.

The 42-year-old Babyshambles singer was performing at the Terry Hall presents Home Sessions in Coventry Cathedral on Saturday and he looked distinctly trimmer to the pictures of him from across the Channel, in recent months.

The rocker was appearing as part of Coventry's UK City of Culture event and he wore a white England football T-shirt and dark grey jeans, as he belted out his songs while playing his guitar.

The gig comes just over a week after he made his return to live shows with a gig in Newcastle, his first since the pandemic began.

Pete's return to the live music scene, as one of the first high profile acts to perform since restrictions were lifted on Freedom Day, July 19.

His return to the stage follows him spending some time in France, where he has enjoyed the French cuisine, with a special nod towards their cheeses, while living in Normandy.

Pete has been living with his film editor girlfriend Katia and has been enjoying a slower pace to life after years of hell raising amid a heroin and ketamine addiction.

He has reportedly immersed himself in village life and has joined locals for games of pétanque, or French bowls.

One villager told The Sun : "Peter is no longer a bad boy. He's relaxing, settling down and loving the goods things in life.

"We introduced him to pétanque and he's fallen in love with the game. He often joins our club nights when we play."

Mikael Grondin, who runs the local bakery, said of Pete: "He is always popping in for a bag of Bout de Choux (creamy little cabbage), which is a pastry filled with cream.

"Maybe that's why he's put on weight but, don't worry, these will be good for him."
