Pete Doherty has revealed that he has no earlobes as they were both bitten off in fights as he battled drug addiction.

The 43-year-old former Babyshambles and The Libertines frontman, who has been clean for two years now, made further claims that he has “chunks missing” from all over his body.

Recalling how his ear injuries came out, he said: “I was swinging at the paparazzi in Italy – the guy took his camera, had me by the throat and bit off part of my earlobe.

“Someone else bit off part of my other earlobe in a pub in Stoke. I think he just wanted a souvenir,” he added in a new interview with The Guardian.

His body has taken a real battering over the years with the musician previously sharing how he very nearly lost his feet because he had “run out of veins”.

“I was really pushing the limits. There were a few close calls really. I nearly lost my feet and horrible things like that,” he told The Mirror.

“It was very close, just because of the injecting. That’s what happens when you run out of veins. It all seems so long ago now though but it was a hell of a ride.”

The Northumberland-born star has since swapped the UK for a more tranquil existence in rural France with wife Katia de Vidas.

“I’ve hedged my bets with all the scrapes, skirmishes and disasters, but I do believe in corny, happy Hollywood endings,” the hit-maker told The Guardian.

“I’m not a good guy, but I’m not evil”. he added.

He is set to release his new memoir A Likely Lad on June 16.
