Pete Davidson to make Saturday Night Live return after QUITTING amid Kim Kardashian fling

Pete Davidson is set to shock fans by returning to Saturday Night Live under a year after he quit the show.

The comedian, 29, is being lined up to host the show for the first time ever on May 6.

He had previously enjoyed an eight-year stint on the iconic American programme, starting as a featured player when he was a relative unknown in 2014.

Pete quickly became a regular on the show and saw his stock rapidly rise.

He sad his emotional goodbyes to the show last year while dating Kim Kardashian.

He decided to call it quits amid an on-going feud with Kim's ex Kanye West.

Pete said in the final episode of the previous series he had never envisaged the route his life and career would take.

At the time he was expected to live his happy ever after with reality star Kim, but the surprise coupling didn't last a year and now Pete is expected to make his SNL return.

A source told Page Six : "He’s very excited to go back.[Leaving the show] has been a change of pace for him, but in a good way.

"Lorne [Michaels, the SNL boss] has always been a huge supporter of Pete and his creative vision and Pete thinks the world of Lorne."

During his goodbye speech last year, Pete was in high praise of Lorne, joking she had gifted him a sock so he was free in a joke which referenced Harry Potter.

He continued to say he appreciated Lorne and the show always having his back, adding his sincere thanks to everyone involved.

As well as his upcoming hosting duties, Pete is expected to attend this year's Met Gala, where he might bump into his ex, Kim.

The pair made quite the impression at last year's glitzy bash when Pete accompanied the reality star who turned heads in an iconic dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe.

Pete has also wrote, produced and stars in a new fictionalised version of his childhood growing up on Staten Island.

Bupkis will premiere on Peacock on May 4 and will feature an array of big-name stars, including Al Gore and Joe Pesci.
